Ryan steps away from Ryan’s Medicare cuts

8/15/2012- Kelly Knight  There is a headline in the Los Angeles Times today that reads “Romney steps away from Paul Ryan’s Medicare cuts.”  Really?  In light of the fact that Ryan has joined the Romney team, shouldn’t it read “Ryan steps toward Romney’s plan for Medicare?”

There is much talk today about Paul Ryan’s budget proposal including the same budget cuts to Medicare that President Obama’s budget for Obamacare proposes, and the Romney/Ryan campaign is being lambasted for it.  However, it is much ado about nothing, in my opinion.  Let’s say, for example, that you are a member of the Methodist church, and your friend invites you to attend the Baptist church with him.  You do, and after a while you decide to join the Baptist church.  In doing so, you naturally give up those tenets of the Methodist church that are contrary to the Baptist church.  Paul Ryan has joined the Romney team as Romney’s VP and running mate, and in so doing has now also thrown his support to Romney’s plans for Medicare and the economy.  You would expect otherwise?
